Steve Bogdanoff
Director of Instruction Steve Bogdanoff joined the Raintree Country Club team in the summer of 2020, bringing great passion and commitment to golf instruction.
Born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia – Steve grew up playing golf at the Country Club of Fairfax with his dad and younger brother beginning at 8. As a junior golfer, Steve won junior club championships and competed in many interclub and junior events. Golf was not his only passion in sports, he was a three-year varsity athlete in baseball and football for W.T. Woodson High School. After attending the University of South Carolina for two years, Steve transferred to Coastal Carolina University to follow his dream of becoming a PGA Professional, where he received a B.S. in Business Administration and Professional Golf Management.
Since becoming a member of the PGA in 2009, Steve has worked in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina at both private and public golf clubs. Most notably, he worked alongside Andrew Rice (Golf Digest Top 100 Instructor) at Berkeley Hall Club in Bluffton, South Carolina, from 2010 to 2012. It was during this time that his passion for growing the game of golf through teaching became clear. Steve and his wife Jessica moved to Charlotte just after they married in 2015 where Steve was employed at the Dana Radar Golf School as a teaching professional. After working alongside Dana Rader (LPGA Hall of Fame, Golf Digest Top 100 Instructor) and Julie Cole (LPGA Top 50 Instructor) for three years, Steve was promoted to Director of Junior Golf and, shortly after, again promoted to Director of Instruction.
Through his now 10 + years of teaching experience, Steve has always strived to be a continuous learner. He has certifications with Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) - Level 1 and Level 2 Golf and Power, BodiTrak Sports, U.S. Kids Golf, Operation 36 - Level 3, Positive Coaching Alliance, True Temper and Ping Club fitting. He has been recognized for his passion and ability by being nominated as a Golf Digest Top Teacher Under 40 for 2020-21 and 2022-23.
Steve’s background as a three-sport athlete, his experience working for top LPGA instructors, his passion for junior golf, and his ability to identify and work with individual’s physical limitations make him a perfect fit to work with golfers of all types and abilities.
